A couple of weeks ago, well....several weeks ago, now...we got an assignment in photography class to take pictures of an item which we were given. We were to take pictures in interesting / unexpected locations, interesting compositions, etc...
My subject was an ear of corn. Now, what the hell am I going to do at this time of year??? I thought of a few ideas that I thought would be cool during the Summer...say in a bean field, or on the grill, etc.... But, at this time of year, I was having a tough time coming up with ideas (also, note that there really isn't much fresh corn on the cob around right now). Add to that, the fact that I didn't get around to shooting for a couple of weeks and the corn I was given, was looking a bit past its prime.
I asked at work if anyone had ideas, and shared my first idea with them. Louis came up with the following as a concept.
Stabbed corn, bleeding butter...I thought it was a cool idea, and this was fun to play with. I only wish I could have found those real cheap plastic corn-shaped holders...instead, I had to use these "fancy" ones which was the only thing I could find at the store.
Next, you have the first idea that came to mind when I found out I had an ear of corn for a subject.
I thought about how no matter how much you chew corn, it seems to reconstruct itself in your digestive tract and comes out in whole kernels in your poo. I just carried it one step further. :-)

It’s the last calendar of 2024, and since we’re chilly here in Central
Illinois, thought I’d go back to Hawaii one more time to warm things up.
And no bett...

I pollinated corn for seven summers. Guess of the ideas I could have given you.
that's one helluva log there timmy!
When I eat corn on the cob, I eat only the corn.... maybe it's a Southern Illinois thing.
hmmmm....I don't know if I want those ideas, gordo!!! Sounds scary!
Yes, tucker, I was surprised...and proud!!! LOL Ahhh...feel better now!
Damn, Toby! I knew someone would have to get technical! I was concerned with that, but, couldn't figure a way around it and still keep the original concept.
Tim, you crack me up.
is it just me, or does that corn cob look like hes smokin a doob and drooling?
